Two Recycling Facilities Sue Largest Beverage Manufacturers for False Statements Made on Their Labeling
July 22, 2021
A complaint was filed on May 10, 2013, in California Superior Court, San Bernardino County by the Law Offices of Gugliotta & Ponzini on behalf of our clients, Alamo Recycling, LLC (Alamo) and Chino Valley Recycling, LLC (Chino Valley), recycling facilities located in Fontana and Chino, California, respectively. These facilities are certified recycling centers where used beverage containers which were sold in the state of California can be redeemed for a deposit.
Alamo and Chino Valley allege in their complaint that they were damaged by false representations made upon beverage containers sold outside of California which stated they could be redeemed within California for a deposit. The defendants include, among other large beverage manufacturers, Anheuser-Busch, LLC, The Coca-Cola Company, and Pepsico, Inc. The beverage industry has retained some of the country’s largest law firms to defend this lawsuit.
